Group Firearm Training in Palm Beach County and Broward County
Private Sessions for Teams, Families, and Groups of Friends
Most group outings are forgettable by the following week. You go somewhere, you do something mildly entertaining, and nobody talks about it again.
This is not that. Four to twelve people, one instructor, and a session built around who is actually in your group. Some of them have never held a firearm. Some have been shooting for years. Both leave having learned something, because the curriculum gets written after we know who is coming.
One hour at whichever of our six ranges is closest to you, from $75 per person. Or three hours at one of our outdoor ranges for groups that want a real training day.

Who Books Group Training

Groups book this for wildly different reasons. The session gets built around yours.
- Corporate teams. A team-building day that is harder and more real than an escape room. People find out things about each other under mild pressure that they would not find out over lunch.
- Groups of friends. Four or six people who have been saying for two years that they should do this.
- Families. Parents and adult children building a shared understanding of what is in the house and how it works.
- Bachelor and bachelorette parties. More interesting than a bar, and everyone remembers it.
- Clubs and organizations. HOA groups, church groups, and neighborhood associations with a specific safety objective.
- Security teams and first responders. Supplemental training on a range that permits more than a static lane.
Mixed experience levels are normal and expected. Most groups have at least one person who has never fired a gun and at least one who thinks they already know everything. Both get something out of it.
Two Ways to Run It
One Hour, Any of Our Six Ranges
The accessible option. Safety fundamentals, grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and live fire with individual correction throughout. Enough for a group that wants to do something real without committing a whole afternoon.
Runs at whichever range is closest to your group in Palm Beach, Broward, or Okeechobee Counties. $75 per person for three or more.
Three Hours, Outdoor Only
The full training day. Everything above plus movement, working from cover, scenario drills, and time on a range that permits things no indoor lane allows. Minimum four people.
Runs at our outdoor range in Boynton Beach or our outdoor range in Okeechobee. $150 per person.
Not sure which one fits? Call 561-213-2974 and describe your group. Two minutes on the phone sorts it out.
What Your Group Will Cover

Every session is built around the group, but these are the pieces most sessions draw from.
- Firearm safety fundamentals. The four rules, explained until they make sense, with everyone held to them equally.
- Grip and stance. Adjusted for each person’s hand size, strength, and body. This is where most new shooters get set up to fail.
- Sight alignment and trigger control. The two things that determine whether anyone hits anything.
- Loading, unloading, and malfunction clearing. Worked until it stops requiring thought.
- Live fire with individual correction. Everyone shoots, and everyone gets watched while they do it.
- Shooting from different positions. Standing, kneeling, prone, and from behind things. Almost nobody has fired a shot from anywhere other than standing square to a target.
- Shooting while moving. Advancing, backing up, and moving laterally while keeping a sight picture. Harder than it looks and the first thing that falls apart under a clock.
- Working from cover and barricades. Using ports at awkward heights, and finding out you are not as small behind an obstacle as you think.
- Vehicle defense. Shooting around, over, and through a car. Most people have spent thousands of hours in a vehicle and have never considered what happens if something goes wrong while they are in one.
- Real world scenario drills. Built around your group’s context, whether that is home defense, a parking lot, a workplace, or general preparedness.
- Communication under pressure. For corporate and security groups, coordinated response exercises that are harder than they sound.
Movement, cover, vehicle work, and most scenario drills require an outdoor range, which is why those pieces run in the three hour format at Boynton Beach or Okeechobee.
On how drills run. With a larger group, some drills run one shooter at a time while everyone else watches. That is deliberate. Watching somebody else work a problem and then hearing the correction is most of how people learn this, and it is a considerable amount of what you are paying for. Nobody spends the session idle.
How to Set It Up
Tell Us About Your Group
How many people, roughly what experience levels, what you are hoping to get out of it, and where you are coming from. That is enough for us to propose something.
Pick Your Format and Range
One hour or three. We will tell you which ranges make sense given your group size and where everyone is driving from.
Show Up and Train
We handle the instruction, the range coordination, the safety protocols, and the curriculum. Your group shows up and trains together.
What It Costs
The price per person drops as the group grows, which is the whole point of booking as a group.
One Hour Sessions
One on one. $125 per hour.
Two people. $100 each.
Three or more. $75 each, up to twelve.
Three Hour Sessions
$150 per person, minimum four people. Available at our Boynton Beach or Okeechobee outdoor ranges only.
What Is Included
Firearms are provided at no charge for anyone who needs one. If people in your group own firearms and want to train with them, bring them, since learning on the gun that is actually in your house makes more sense than learning on ours.
Eye and ear protection are provided. Targets are provided. You bring ammunition or purchase it at the range, and we will tell you roughly how much to plan on once we know the format.
The instruction, the curriculum, the range coordination, and the safety protocols are all handled. Your group shows up and trains.
Range Fees
Range fees are separate and paid directly to the range.
- Indoor ranges: approximately $20 per person.
- Boynton Beach outdoor range: $40 per person.
- Okeechobee outdoor range: no range fee. We own it.
For a group of eight doing a three hour session in Okeechobee, that means $150 per person and nothing else beyond ammunition. Worth factoring in when you are comparing locations.
Where Group Sessions Run
One hour sessions run at any of the six. Three hour sessions run at the two outdoor ranges.
- Palm Beach Shooting Center, Lake Worth. Easiest for Lake Worth Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, West Palm Beach, and Royal Palm Beach.
- Shoot Straight, West Palm Beach. The largest indoor range in the area. Best for West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Jupiter.
- Gun World of South Florida, Deerfield Beach. Convenient for Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and northern Broward County.
- Declaration Defense, Pompano Beach. Closest for Coral Springs, Margate, Tamarac, and Fort Lauderdale.
- Our private outdoor range, Boynton Beach. Three bays with nobody else on the property. Three hour sessions available.
- Our private outdoor range, Okeechobee. 1.25 acres with training vehicles, barricades, and a wrap-around berm. Three hour sessions available, and no range fee.
Tell us where your group is coming from and we will put you at the closest one that fits the format.
Who You Are Training With

Mike Kneuer has spent twenty-two years carrying a firearm daily and the last several teaching other people how to do it properly. He competes in USPSA, constantly furthers his education by taking other top level instructors courses, and has put thousands of hours in with students ranging from people who had never touched a gun to daily carriers with bad habits they could not see.
A certification is a starting point, not an achievement. It means someone passed a course, and it says nothing about the years since. What Mike brings to your session is a working knowledge of what actually goes wrong for shooters and how to fix it.
He does not lecture and he does not perform. Most of the session is people shooting and him watching, with short corrections in between. If what somebody is doing works, he leaves it alone. If it does not, he tells them plainly and shows them the fix. Nobody gets yelled at and nobody gets talked down to.
- NRA Certified Pistol Instructor
- Tactical Hyve Level 1 Instructor
- Stop the Bleed Instructor
- USCCA Member
- USPSA Competitor
- 22 Years Concealed Carry
Mike has taught groups where one person had been shooting for twenty years and the person next to them had never touched a firearm. Both left better than they arrived. That is the harder version of this job and it is the version he prefers.
What Groups Say About Training With Suburban Protector
“I took a Concealed Carry fundamentals course this weekend and our instructor Mike did a phenomenal job! The program was packed with info. Mike is a great teacher who clearly explains not just what we should do, but why that principle is important and effective. Each lesson was built on top of the principles from the previous lesson and then drilled on the range.”
-Tim B.
“Incredible instructor and great place to go shooting. It’s for all levels of shooting. For private groups, it’s the best. Mike is always next to you and providing step-by-step guidance. We will be returning and highly recommending to family and friends.”
-Sandra M.
“I couldnt love this more! Went to see Mike with fear and very apprehensive about weapons. Finished the training with a lot of knowledge and super confident. 4 hours of amazing training! Thank you Mike! We will be back!”
-Fernanda G.
Common Questions About Group Training
For one hour sessions, $125 one on one, $100 per person for two people, or $75 per person for three or more. Three hour outdoor sessions are $150 per person with a minimum of four. Firearms and eye and ear protection are included. Ammunition and range fees are separate.
They are paid directly to the range, not to us. Indoor ranges run approximately $20 per person. Our Boynton Beach outdoor range is $40 per person. There is no range fee at our Okeechobee range, since we own it.
Four to twelve. Under four is still possible, it just falls under our regular private lesson pricing rather than the group rate. Over twelve gets difficult to run well with one instructor.
No. We provide firearms at no charge for anyone who needs one. If people in your group own firearms and want to train with them, bring them.
That is normal and the session is built for it. Most groups have someone who has never fired a gun and someone who has been shooting for years. Tell us the spread when you book and the curriculum gets written around it.
The one hour covers safety, grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and live fire. The three hour adds movement, working from cover, and scenario drills that no indoor range permits. It runs at our outdoor ranges in Boynton Beach or Okeechobee.
Yes, for the one hour session. Indoor ranges do not permit the movement and cover work in the three hour session, which is why that format runs outdoors only.
Frequently. Corporate groups usually book the three hour outdoor session, since the communication and coordinated response drills are the part that actually does the team building.
Closed toe shoes and shirts with high necklines. Hot brass finds low collars and it finds them at the worst possible moment. Anyone with long hair should tie it back.
Give us at least a week or two if you can, particularly for larger groups or weekend dates. Shorter notice is sometimes possible, so ask.
Yes. Most groups do. Nothing is assumed and nobody gets embarrassed.
