But they have structural limitations that cannot be engineered away: you cannot move freely, you cannot train around vehicles, you cannot use cover and concealment in a realistic way, you cannot run multi-angle scenarios, and you cannot simulate the outdoor environment where most real-world threats actually occur. Smoke & Barrel Gun Club was built specifically to eliminate those limitations. On this range, the environment is yours to use. The space is open. The variables are real. The training conditions are as close to the real thing as you can get without the stakes. - Giant wrap-around berm supporting multiple simultaneous shooting angles.
- Steel reactive targets and paper target stands for varied training setups.
- Three (3) full-size training vehicles for vehicle-based defense scenarios.
- Two VTAC boards and a barricade system for tactical movement drills

Courses Held at The Smoke & Barrel Gun Club
3 hours. Max 10 students. Covers stance, grip, vision, trigger control, and multiple-target engagement in a live-fire outdoor environment. You leave with a personal accuracy baseline and a practice plan.
The course that separates people who carry from people prepared to carry. Holster draw, mag changes, shooting while moving, cover and concealment using real terrain and barricades, vehicle-based defense scenarios, and high-stress drills. Qualifies for Florida CWFL sign-off. Students must bring their own holster, magazines, and carrier gear.
AR-15 platform and defensive rifle applications across multiple angles, distances, and real-world scenario setups. 3 hours. All skill levels. Rifle rental $50 (bring your own sling and 3 magazines).
Armed security team training for faith communities. Active shooter scenarios, team coordination, response planning. Min 6 people. Available at Okeechobee or Pompano Beach. All faiths welcome.

A women’s-only session at one of South Florida’s most unique training facilities. Supportive, judgment-free, and built around building real confidence with a firearm — not just familiarity with one. Mike’s instruction is patient, clear, and meets you exactly where you are. Groups of 6–8. Firearms provided at no rental charge. Eye and ear protection provided. Students supply ammunition.
A firearm without the ability to treat a wound is an incomplete preparedness plan. This nationally affiliated course teaches tourniquet application, wound packing, and direct pressure — hands-on, using real training equipment. Skills that save lives in the minutes before EMS arrives. Take it standalone or paired with any Okeechobee session. All materials provided. No medical experience required.
Built for real carry — not the state minimum. Live-fire training at Okeechobee covering holster draw, firearm presentation, and the accuracy standards that defensive carry actually demands. Mike signs off directly on your Florida CWFL application upon completion. Two paths: Protector Level 2 ($200) or two private lessons ($250 + range fees). Students must bring their own holster, magazines, and carrier gear. Firearms rental available ($50).
