Belle Glade's Most Trusted Firearm Instructor — Real Skills, Real Confidence, Real Close to Home
You bought a firearm because life in Belle Glade has taught you that protecting the people you love is not something you leave to chance. Maybe it’s secured at home, tucked in your vehicle, or carried on your person when you head out toward Hooker Highway or into town after sundown. You’ve put rounds downrange. You’ve felt the weight of that responsibility in your hands and told yourself you’re prepared. But somewhere in the back of your mind, a question you haven’t fully answered keeps surfacing — if something happened right now, tonight, in a parking lot off Main Street or walking back to your truck in the dark, would you actually know what to do?
Most firearm owners in Belle Glade would pause before answering that honestly. Not because they’re reckless. Not because they don’t care. But because nobody ever showed them what genuine readiness looks like when the stakes are real and the clock is moving. The crowded group classes at public ranges are built for volume, not for you — they move at the pace of the least experienced person in the room and leave everyone else waiting. YouTube videos can teach you concepts, but they can’t see the tension in your grip, the flinch you’ve trained yourself not to notice, or the trigger habits you’ve been quietly reinforcing for years. And standing in a lane shooting at a stationary paper target does nothing to simulate the moment your heart rate spikes, your hands start shaking, and everything you’ve ever practiced either rises to the surface — or it doesn’t.
Belle Glade is a community built on hard work, self-reliance, and looking out for your own. The people here don’t take shortcuts when it matters — and personal protection is no different. But owning a firearm and being truly prepared to use one under pressure are two very different things, and the gap between them is where real danger lives. That gap doesn’t close on its own. It closes with the right instruction, the right environment, and a trainer who takes your safety as seriously as you do. Bridging that distance — for Belle Glade gun owners who are done just hoping they’re ready — is exactly what Suburban Protector was built to do.
Most Belle Glade Gun Owners Have a Firearm at Home — But No Plan for When It Matters Most.

From the Fields to the Range — Belle Glade Deserves Firearm Training Built for Real Life
Suburban Protector is built around one instructor who takes this seriously. Mike Kneuer holds NRA Certified Pistol Instructor credentials, Tactical Hyve Level 1 Certification, USCCA membership, Stop the Bleed instructor status, and brings 22 years of concealed carry experience as a competitive USPSA shooter. Mike didn’t walk out of a weekend course and hang a shingle. He pursued the most demanding instructor development programs available anywhere in the country — credentials that most Florida firearm trainers have never even looked at — and he built every single class around one question: when this student drives home from the range, are they genuinely better prepared to protect themselves and the people who depend on them?
Suburban Protector is a Florida nonprofit. There’s no sales pitch here, no upsell, no hidden agenda — just your readiness. Belle Glade is a community that understands self-reliance. Out here, help can be far away, response times are not guaranteed, and the people who live here know better than most that personal protection isn’t a theoretical conversation — it’s a practical one. We built our program for students who think that way. For people who are done leaving their firearm in a drawer and starting to treat it like the responsibility it actually is. With over 50 five-star Google reviews from students across Palm Beach County and the Glades corridor, Suburban Protector has become the instructor that Belle Glade residents call when they’re ready to stop guessing and start training.
We use two training locations selected for exactly what our students need. Indoor sessions are held at Palm Beach Shooting Center in Lake Worth — a fully equipped professional range — and for outdoor, scenario-based defensive work, we use Smoke & Barrel Gun Club, a private 1.25-acre tactical range where we run the kind of real-world drills that no indoor facility in South Florida is equipped to handle. Whether you’ve never held a firearm or you’ve been carrying for years without formal training, every session is designed from the ground up around your skill level, your goals, and the realities of life in Belle Glade.

Firearm Training in Belle Glade Built for the Way You Actually Live

Belle Glade is a tight-knit community on the western edge of Palm Beach County — one where neighbors know each other, distances to city services are real, and personal protection is not a talking point but a daily consideration. When Belle Glade residents train with Suburban Protector, they get instruction built around that reality: their firearm, their environment, and the situations most likely to unfold in their world.
Here is what we offer:
Private Firearm Lessons — $125 per session
One-on-one shooting lessons for every skill level, from Belle Glade residents picking up a firearm for the first time to seasoned shooters who have plateaued and cannot pinpoint why. In a community where the nearest big-city range feels like a world away, private instruction brings expert coaching directly to your skill level — no waiting on a crowded lane, no getting lost in a group. We work through stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, accuracy fundamentals, and defensive application with live feedback after every repetition. Available at Palm Beach Shooting Center in Lake Worth. Firearm rental available for $50.
Florida Concealed Carry Certification (CWFL) — $200–$250
For Belle Glade residents who carry — or plan to — this course is not about collecting a certificate. It is about being genuinely ready for the moments that matter. Our Florida concealed carry class is live-fire focused and covers Florida carry laws, safe holster use, drawing from concealment, and the kind of pressure-tested defensive decision-making that does not fall apart when it counts. Instructor Mike Kneuer provides the NRA-certified instructor sign-off required for your Florida CWFL application. Two options: two private sessions at $250, or the 3-hour Protector Level 2 group course at $200.
Protector Level 1 — Pistol Fundamentals — $150
A three-hour beginner to intermediate pistol course held at our private outdoor range near Okeechobee — which means Belle Glade residents are practically in the backyard for this one. Limited to 10 students. Built for the gun owner who is tired of range trips that go nowhere and wants a real foundation that transfers to real life. Covers stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, live-fire accuracy drills, and multi-target engagement. If you own a firearm and have never had formal instruction, this is your starting point — and it is closer to home than you think.
Protector Level 2 — Concealed Carry Concepts — $200
For Belle Glade residents who already carry and know there is a gap between having a permit and being truly prepared. This course is designed to close that gap. Drawing from a holster, shooting on the move, vehicle-based defense scenarios, cover and concealment, and high-stress drills with magazine changes under pressure. Rural roads, limited lighting, long response times — Belle Glade presents a specific set of real-world considerations, and this course trains you to meet them. Includes Florida CCW instructor sign-off.
EmpowHER Women-Only Firearm Training — $100
A women-only shooting program for women in Belle Glade and across South Florida who want to learn firearms in a space built entirely around them — zero judgment, zero intimidation, zero condescension. No experience required. Firearms, eye protection, and ear protection are all provided. Groups of 4 to 8 women. Women in Belle Glade carry real responsibility for themselves and their families — this course is where that responsibility meets real skill. Confidence with a firearm is not something you are born with. It is something you build.
Group Firearm Training — from $100 per person
Custom group firearm training for Belle Glade families, agricultural teams, community organizations, church groups, and neighborhood networks. Indoor at Palm Beach Shooting Center or outdoor at Smoke & Barrel near Okeechobee. Every session is built around your group’s goals and actual experience level — not a prefabricated class with your town’s name pasted into the welcome slide. Belle Glade is a community that looks out for its own, and this training reflects that.
Stop the Bleed Certification — $75 per person (groups of 4+)
Nationally affiliated bleeding control training available to Belle Glade residents and western Palm Beach County groups. Covers tourniquet application, wound packing, and direct pressure technique. No medical background required. One hour. All materials included. In a community where the nearest trauma center is not around the corner, knowing how to stop a bleed is not optional — it is the difference that bridges the gap until help arrives. This course is that bridge.
Belle Glade Residents Don't Just Learn to Shoot — They Leave Ready for What's Real.
There is a moment that a lot of Belle Glade gun owners know well. You bought the firearm with good reason. You have run a few boxes of ammo through it. But late at night, or when you are locking up the house, or driving home on SR-80 after dark, the thought creeps in — if something real happened right here, right now, would I actually know what to do?
That is not a small question. And it does not deserve a small answer.
It does not deserve a crowded weekend class where you are one of twenty people and the instructor has never heard of your town. It does not deserve a tutorial filmed in someone’s backyard. It deserves focused, professional instruction built around your firearm, your life, and the specific realities of living in Belle Glade.
That is what Suburban Protector was built to deliver. Instructor Mike Kneuer works with gun owners who are honest enough to admit that owning a firearm and being truly prepared with one are two very different things — and motivated enough to close that gap. His students do not walk away with a certificate and a handshake. They walk away with muscle memory, legal clarity, and the kind of calm that only comes from having already trained through the hard scenarios.
Belle Glade is a working community. People here are self-reliant by nature. They are not looking for someone to hold their hand — they are looking for an instructor who respects their time, levels with them, and gives them training that actually transfers to real life. That is Mike’s entire approach.
You already made the decision to be a gun owner. Let the training match that decision.
Mike is one call away.
