Firearm Training in Celebration, FL — Gun Lessons, CCW Classes & Shooting Instruction

You bought a firearm because something shifted — maybe it was the news, maybe it was a conversation with a neighbor, maybe it was the quiet realization that living in a beautiful planned community doesn’t mean the rest of the world has agreed to leave you alone. Celebration looks the way most people imagine Florida should. The streets are clean, the architecture is deliberate, the lake path is safe enough that you walk it after dinner. But you carry anyway. Or you keep one in the nightstand. Or you’ve been thinking about it more seriously than you’ve admitted out loud.

Here is what most Celebration residents never say but quietly know: owning that firearm is not the same as being ready to use it. You may have been to a range. You may have put rounds through paper and felt something that resembled confidence. But in the back of your mind, the question sits unanswered — if something happened right now, in the parking garage off Celebration Avenue, in the middle of a crowded event on Market Street, or pulling into your own driveway after dark, would you actually know what to do? Not in theory. Not from memory. In the moment, with your hands shaking and your family ten feet away.

Most Celebration gun owners would answer that question honestly if pressed. The answer is not yet. Not because they don’t care — they care deeply. But because no one has ever shown them what genuinely ready looks like outside a controlled range environment. The gap between owning a firearm and being trained to deploy it under real pressure is the most consequential space a responsible gun owner can occupy. In a community built on the idea that every detail matters, this is the one detail most residents have left unfinished. Suburban Protector exists to finish it.

Most Celebration Gun Owners Have a Firearm in the House — And a False Sense of What That Means.

Celebration's Most Intentional Firearm Instructor — Training Built for the Life You've Built Here

Suburban Protector is led by Mike Kneuer — NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, Tactical Hyve Level 1 Certified, USCCA member, Stop the Bleed instructor, and competitive USPSA shooter with 22 years of concealed carry experience. Mike did not arrive at this through a weekend certification course. He has pursued the most demanding instructor development programs available, earned credentials that the vast majority of Florida firearm trainers have never attempted, and built every class around a single standard: when this student leaves the range, are they genuinely more capable of protecting themselves and the people they love?

Suburban Protector is a Florida nonprofit — which means the only agenda in the room is your readiness. Celebration sits inside one of the most heavily trafficked corridors in Central Florida. Theme park traffic, tourist density, and the proximity of US-192 and I-4 mean that the world outside your HOA does not operate at the same pace as the one inside it. We built our program for residents who understand that distinction — who want training that reflects where they actually live, not a generic curriculum recycled from a public range. With more than 50 five-star Google reviews from students across Florida, Suburban Protector has become the instructor that Celebration residents call when they decide that responsible ownership means more than having a firearm in the house.

We train at a licensed indoor facility accessible from Osceola County and at Smoke & Barrel Gun Club — our private 1.25-acre outdoor tactical range near Okeechobee — where we run scenario-based defensive training that no indoor range in Central Florida can replicate. Whether you have never fired a shot or you carry daily and want to close the gap between habit and genuine preparedness, every session is built entirely around you.

Celebration is a community where people invest in the details — the right neighborhood, the right schools, the right environment for their family. Firearm training should be no different. Here is what Suburban Protector offers Celebration residents:

Private Firearm Lessons — $125 per session

One-on-one shooting instruction for every experience level — from the Celebration resident who just purchased their first firearm and hasn’t told anyone yet, to the experienced shooter who has plateaued and doesn’t understand why. Private instruction is where real change happens, because a group class cannot watch your grip, catch the flinch you’ve normalized, or rebuild the habits you’ve been reinforcing for two years without knowing it. We cover stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, accuracy fundamentals, and defensive application with live feedback after every repetition. Firearm rental available.

Florida Concealed Carry Certification (CWFL) — $200–$250

Carrying in Celebration — through its town center, its event spaces, its crowded weekend markets — means being genuinely prepared, not just legally permitted. Our Florida concealed carry program is live-fire focused and covers Florida carry laws, safe holster use, drawing from concealment, and the defensive decision-making that holds up when stress makes everything harder. Mike provides the NRA-certified instructor sign-off required for your Florida CWFL application.

Protector Level 1 — Pistol Fundamentals — $150

A three-hour beginner to intermediate pistol course at our private outdoor range near Okeechobee. Limited to 10 students. Built for the Celebration resident who wants more than a range experience — who wants a real foundation that transfers to real situations. Covers stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, live-fire accuracy drills, and multi-target engagement. If you own a firearm and have never had structured instruction, this is where the foundation gets built correctly.

Protector Level 2 — Concealed Carry Concepts — $200

For Celebration residents who already carry and want to close the gap between having a permit and being prepared to use it. Drawing from a holster, shooting on the move, vehicle-based defense scenarios, cover and concealment, and high-stress drills with magazine changes under pressure. Celebration’s proximity to major tourist corridors means your defensive environment is more complex than most. This course reflects that. Includes Florida CCW instructor sign-off.

EmpowHER Women-Only Firearm Training — $100

A women-only shooting program built for women in Celebration and across Osceola County who want to learn firearms in an environment designed entirely around them — no judgment, no intimidation, no assumption that you already know what you’re doing. No experience required. Firearms, eye protection, and ear protection are all provided. Groups of 4 to 8 women. Confidence with a firearm is not a personality trait — it is a skill, and every woman in Celebration can build it.

Group Firearm Training — from $100 per person

Custom group training for Celebration families, HOA communities, neighborhood groups, and corporate teams who want to invest in readiness together. Every session is built around your group’s goals and experience level — not a recycled curriculum with your community’s name dropped into the opening slide. Real instruction. Real results. Indoor or outdoor options available.

Stop the Bleed Certification — $75 per person (groups of 4+)

Nationally affiliated bleeding control training for Celebration residents and Osceola County groups. Covers tourniquet application, wound packing, and direct pressure technique. No medical background required. One hour. All materials included. In a community as family-centered as Celebration, knowing how to stop a bleed is the skill everyone hopes they never need and everyone should have.

Celebration Residents Don't Just Leave With a Skill — They Leave With the Confidence That Backs It Up.

There is a version of preparedness that looks good on paper — a firearm in the safe, a range trip every few months, a CWFL card in the wallet. And then there is the version that actually holds up. The version where your training surfaces automatically, where your muscle memory takes over before panic can, where the answer to that quiet question in the back of your mind is finally yes.

Celebration is a community built on intention. The people who live here made deliberate choices to be here — the neighborhood, the lifestyle, the environment they wanted for their family. Firearm training deserves that same intentionality. Not a YouTube video. Not a packed Saturday morning group class where the instructor moves on whether you’re ready or not. A real answer, built around how you live, what you’re protecting, and the situations Celebration’s location actually puts you in.

That is what Celebration residents get when they train with Suburban Protector. Mike works with local gun owners who are done carrying uncertainty and ready to replace it with something earned — the kind of preparedness that doesn’t fade when the moment arrives, because you’ve already trained through it.

Where does Suburban Protector hold firearm training for Celebration residents?
Celebration students train at two locations depending on the course. For outdoor and scenario-based training, we use Smoke & Barrel Gun Club — a private 1.25-acre tactical range near Okeechobee where we conduct live-fire drills, concealment draws, and defensive movement scenarios that no indoor range in Central Florida can replicate. For a community as detail-oriented as Celebration, training in an environment built for real defensive scenarios rather than static paper targets changes the entire experience. For indoor sessions covering fundamentals, we utilize a licensed indoor facility accessible from Osceola County. Celebration’s location — surrounded by tourist traffic, major highways, and the full complexity of Central Florida — makes scenario-based training more relevant here than almost anywhere else in the region.
I've never needed to think about this before — is Suburban Protector the right first step for a Celebration resident?
It is — and the fact that you’re thinking about it now is exactly the right instinct. Many of our Celebration students come to us having owned a firearm for years without formal instruction, or having just purchased one and wanting to start correctly. Either way, you don’t need prior experience or equipment to begin. Private lessons include free firearm rentals along with eye and ear protection — your first session is entirely focused on learning, not logistics. For women in Celebration who want a first experience that’s structured, private, and free from the noise of a public range environment, our EmpowHER women-only course provides every piece of equipment and a curriculum built around how women carry, move, and respond. Celebration attracts people who do things thoughtfully — starting your firearm training with proper instruction is the most thoughtful first step you can take.
Can Suburban Protector help Celebration residents get a Florida Concealed Weapon/Firearm License (CWFL)?
Yes — and for Celebration residents who move through some of Central Florida’s most crowded and unpredictable public spaces on a regular basis, getting your CWFL with genuine preparation behind it matters far more than just satisfying the legal requirement. We offer two paths. The first is two private lessons at $250 — live-fire instruction covering Florida’s carry laws, drawing from concealment, safe holster technique, and the defensive decision-making framework that holds up in high-traffic, high-stress environments. The second is our Protector Level 2 group course — a focused 3-hour session covering all CWFL certification requirements for $200. Instructor Mike Kneuer provides the NRA-certified instructor sign-off your Florida CWFL application requires. For Celebration residents, both options are designed to ensure that your permit reflects actual preparedness — not just a completed form.
What makes Suburban Protector the right firearm instructor for someone in Celebration?
Celebration attracts a particular kind of resident — someone who has thought carefully about where they live, how they live, and what they want their environment to reflect. Suburban Protector is built for that same standard of intentionality. Instructor Mike Kneuer doesn’t run high-volume group classes where students are processed and sent home. Every session is built around your specific firearm, your daily environment, and the real situations a Celebration resident is most likely to face — from navigating tourist-heavy public spaces to protecting a home in a community where everything looks safe and the unexpected still happens. Mike is NRA Certified, Tactical Hyve Level 1 Certified, and brings 22 years of concealed carry experience to every class. Over 50 five-star Google reviews from students across Florida reflect what happens when instruction is personal, purposeful, and held to a genuine standard.
How much does firearm training cost for Celebration residents?
