Mike Kneuer, founder of Suburban Protector, has been carrying concealed and training with firearms for 22 years. Not 22 years of range sessions — 22 years of treating every day as a day where being unprepared wasn’t an option. He built this program because he got tired of watching South Florida gun owners leave training feeling confident but without the skills to back it up. Mike holds an NRA Pistol Instructor certification, a Tactical Hyve Level 1 Pistol Instructor certification, and is an active USCCA member. He is a USPSA competitor and a certified Stop the Bleed instructor. He does not teach theory. He teaches what works when your body is under stress and time has run out for thinking.

- Private Lessons — $125/session: One-on-one instruction tailored entirely to your skill level, your firearm, and your goals. Perfect for complete beginners who want a judgment-free environment, or experienced shooters looking to identify and fix specific gaps. Available at Palm Beach Shooting Center (Lake Worth), Declaration Defense (Pompano Beach), Gun World of South Florida (Deerfield Beach) and our private outdoor range in Okeechobee. 1 hour. Firearms rental available.
- EmpowHER — Women Only — $100/student (min 4): A women’s-only session designed to build real confidence with a firearm in a supportive, non-intimidating environment. Same rigorous curriculum, different dynamic. 1 hour. Firearms provided. All skill levels welcome.
- Stop The Bleed: Life-saving hands-on emergency medical training. Learn tourniquet application, wound packing, and direct pressure — skills that can keep someone alive in the minutes before EMS arrives. Can be taken standalone or paired with firearm training.
- Concealed Carry Certification: Florida CWFL qualification built for real carry — not the bare minimum the state requires. Mike signs off on your Florida CCW application. Two paths: 2 Private Lessons ($250 + range fees) or Protector Level 2 ($200) held in Okeechobee.
