Firearm Training in Miramar, FL — Real-World Shooting Lessons, CCW Classes & Personal Defense Instruction
You bought a firearm because Miramar isn’t the same city it was ten years ago. The neighborhoods have grown, the traffic has thickened, and the situations that used to feel distant have started feeling a lot closer to home. Maybe your firearm is in your nightstand, your center console, or on your person when you leave for work in the morning. You have put rounds downrange. You have stood in a lane, found your rhythm, and walked out feeling like you have done your part. But somewhere in the back of your mind, a question has never fully gone away — if something unraveled right now, in a Miramar parking lot, a gas station off Miramar Parkway, or walking back to your car after dark, would your training actually hold up when it counted?
Most firearm owners in Miramar would answer that question honestly and quietly admit they are not sure. Not because they are reckless. Not because they don’t care. But because the training most people have access to was never designed to prepare them for a real defensive encounter. Group range classes in Broward County shuffle too many students through too little instruction, moving at the pace of the least experienced person in the room. YouTube videos cannot see the flinch you have built into your trigger pull, the grip tension you have been reinforcing for years without realizing it, or the way your breathing changes the moment your heart rate spikes. Static paper targets do not move, do not close distance, and do not replicate the physiological reality of a situation where your adrenaline has taken over and everything you have ever practiced either rises to the surface — or it doesn’t.
Miramar is a city of people who show up. They work demanding jobs, build strong families, and make deliberate choices about how they protect the people they love. Choosing to own a firearm is one of those choices — but it is only the first one. The distance between owning a gun and being genuinely prepared to use it under real pressure is the most consequential gap in a responsible gun owner’s life. In a city growing as fast as Miramar, that gap is not something you can afford to leave open. Suburban Protector was built specifically to close it.
Miramar Has One of Broward's Fastest-Growing Gun Owner Populations — And Almost Nobody Training for What Actually Happens.

Miramar Is Growing Fast. Your Ability to Protect What You've Built Here Should Keep Up.
Suburban Protector is led by Mike Kneuer — NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, Tactical Hyve Level 1 Certified, USCCA member, Stop the Bleed instructor, and competitive USPSA shooter with 22 years of concealed carry experience. Mike didn’t collect a certificate at a weekend seminar and build a business around it. He has pursued the most demanding instructor development programs available anywhere in the country, earned credentials that the vast majority of Florida firearm trainers have never even pursued, and structured every single class around one non-negotiable question: when this student walks off the range today, are they genuinely better equipped to protect themselves and the people who depend on them?
Suburban Protector is a Florida nonprofit — which means no sales agenda, no upsells, and no divided loyalty. Our only measure of success is your readiness. Miramar is one of Broward County’s most densely populated cities — a place where working families, young professionals, and retirees share neighborhoods that look peaceful on the surface but exist in the same South Florida reality the rest of us do. Threat doesn’t follow a schedule, and it doesn’t choose convenient locations. We built our program for Miramar residents who already understand that — people who are done treating their firearm as a theoretical safety net and are ready to develop the skills, judgment, and composure to back it up. With over 50 five-star Google reviews from students across Palm Beach and Broward Counties, Suburban Protector has become the instructor that serious South Florida gun owners recommend to the people they care about most.
We train at Palm Beach Shooting Center in Lake Worth — a professional indoor range accessible from Miramar via I-95 in under an hour — and at Smoke & Barrel Gun Club, our private 1.25-acre outdoor tactical range where we conduct scenario-based defensive training, movement drills, and situational exercises that no Broward County indoor facility can replicate. Whether you’re a Miramar resident picking up a firearm for the first time or a seasoned carrier who knows there’s a gap between having a gun and being prepared to use it under real pressure — every session is built entirely around closing that gap, for you specifically.

Miramar Residents Don't Need Another Range Day — They Need Training That Actually Transfers to Real Life.

Miramar is a city that doesn’t slow down — a sprawling, diverse, high-energy community where families, professionals, and first responders live side by side and personal safety is never far from anyone’s mind. When Miramar residents train with Suburban Protector, they get instruction built around their actual reality: their firearm, their experience level, and the specific situations they are most likely to face in Broward County’s fastest-growing city.
Here is what we offer:
Private Firearm Lessons — $125 per session
One-on-one shooting instruction for every experience level — from Miramar residents who have never pulled a trigger to seasoned gun owners who have been shooting for years but know something is still off. Private lessons exist because group classes cannot give you what you actually need: eyes on your grip, your trigger finger, your stance, and your decision-making in real time. We work through every fundamental — stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, accuracy development, and defensive application — with live feedback after every single repetition. Sessions are held at Palm Beach Shooting Center in Lake Worth, under an hour from Miramar via I-95 or the Turnpike. Firearm rental available for $50.
Florida Concealed Carry Certification (CWFL) — $200–$250
Miramar residents don’t carry a firearm to check a legal box — they carry because the stakes are real. This course treats it that way. Our Florida concealed carry certification is live-fire focused and built around the situations you will actually face: Florida carry laws, safe holster technique, drawing from concealment, and the kind of pressure-tested defensive decision-making that doesn’t fall apart when it matters most. Whether you’re commuting through Broward County or protecting your family at home, this course prepares you for both. NRA-Certified Instructor Mike Kneuer provides the official instructor sign-off your Florida CWFL application requires.
Protector Level 1 — Pistol Fundamentals — $150
A three-hour beginner to intermediate pistol course held at our private outdoor range near Okeechobee, FL. Limited to 10 students. Built for the Miramar gun owner who is tired of unsupervised range trips that never seem to translate into real improvement. We cover stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, live-fire accuracy drills, and multi-target engagement in a structured, small-group environment that actually moves the needle. If you own a firearm and have never received formal instruction, this is where your training begins — not at a crowded public range, but at a private facility designed for learning.
Protector Level 2 — Concealed Carry Concepts — $200
For Miramar residents who already carry and know the difference between being permitted and being prepared. This is advanced concealed carry training that closes that gap — drawing from a holster under stress, shooting on the move, vehicle-based defense scenarios built around South Florida driving realities, cover and concealment principles, and high-pressure magazine change drills that don’t let you get comfortable. Miramar is not a low-stakes environment, and this course doesn’t pretend otherwise. Includes Florida CCW instructor sign-off.
EmpowHER Women-Only Firearm Training — $100
A women-only firearm program designed from the ground up for women in Miramar and across Broward County who want to learn in a space that was built entirely for them. No intimidation. No talking down. No adjusting to a room that wasn’t designed with you in mind. No prior experience required. All firearms, eye protection, and ear protection are provided. Groups of 4 to 8 women. Miramar is home to an incredibly strong, capable community of women — and every one of them deserves to feel that way at the range too.
Group Firearm Training — from $100 per person
Custom group firearm training for Miramar families, neighborhood groups, corporate teams, HOA communities, and organizations of every kind. Indoor sessions at Palm Beach Shooting Center or outdoor at Smoke & Barrel Gun Club in Okeechobee. Every group session is structured around your team’s specific goals, experience levels, and objectives — not a recycled lesson plan with your city’s name dropped into the first slide. Whether your group is brand new to firearms or looking to sharpen existing skills together, we build the session around you.
Stop the Bleed Certification — $75 per person (groups of 4+)
Nationally affiliated bleeding control training available to Miramar residents and Broward County groups. Covers tourniquet application, wound packing, and direct pressure technique — the three skills that buy time when minutes are the difference between life and death. No medical background required. One hour. All materials included. In a city as large and active as Miramar, knowing how to stop a life-threatening bleed is not an optional skill — it is a responsible one, and this course makes it accessible to everyone.
Miramar Residents Don't Just Own a Firearm — They Train Like Their Life Depends On It.
There is a moment many Miramar gun owners recognize. You have had your firearm for a while. Maybe you have put some rounds downrange at a local range, felt reasonably comfortable, and told yourself that was enough. But somewhere beneath the routine, the question surfaces — if something actually happened in your apartment complex, in your driveway off Miramar Parkway, in the parking lot of the Riverwalk — would you actually be ready? Not legally ready on paper. Not casually familiar with the trigger. Actually, decisively, functionally ready.
That question deserves more than a guess. It deserves more than an algorithm-recommended video or a Saturday morning group class where you are one of twenty people and the instructor never learns your name. A real answer comes from instruction built specifically around you — your firearm, your environment, and the people you are trying to protect when it matters most.
That is what Miramar residents get when they train with Suburban Protector. Mike works with local gun owners who are honest enough to admit that ownership and preparedness are not the same thing — and serious enough to do something about it. The confidence you build here is not the fragile kind that disappears the moment your heart rate spikes. It is the kind that holds, because you have already trained through pressure before it was real.
Miramar is one of Broward County’s most densely populated cities, and it is growing faster every year. More residents. More traffic. More complexity in everyday situations where awareness and trained instinct are the difference between a good outcome and a devastating one. If you own a firearm and live in Miramar, the distance between having one and being genuinely skilled with one is a gap that only intentional training can close.
Mike is one call away.
